David Kalmar has over 25 years' experience supporting patients to navigate life’s challenges and build meaningful change. Since 1998, David has worked across private practice and professional settings, providing psychological care in corporate, hospital, school and community environments.
David brings a calm, grounded presence to his work with his extensive experience with both personal and professional concerns. From trauma, grief and relationship issues to organisational change, critical incidents and workplace stress, David has the experience and skills to work with a wide breadth of issues with his patients. He has delivered support through Employee Assistance Programs (EAP) across a broad range of industries, providing care both onsite and remotely.
David tailors his approach to suit each client’s needs, using evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Strengths-Based techniques.
With a thoughtful, pragmatic manner and a strong focus on respectful, collaborative care, David supports his clients to identify their goals and move towards positive, lasting outcomes.
David holds qualifications from the University of Sydney and the Australian College of Applied Psychology and is a long-standing member of the Australian Psychological Society (MAPS).
