Experience and style

Kirsty is a Registered Psychologist and Educational and Developmental Psychology Registrar who works with children, adolescents and adults, and has a particular interest in neurodivergence, including Autism and ADHD, as well as individuals experiencing anxiety, emotional regulation difficulties, and learning challenges.

Before becoming a psychologist, Kirsty spent more than a decade working in education across early childhood, primary and secondary settings. Her combined experience in psychology and education shapes her developmental, strengths-based approach, helping her understand each person within the context of their relationships, life experiences and the environments in which they live, learn and work.

Kirsty takes a collaborative, neuro-affirming, and practical approach to therapy; and believes that therapy should be tailored to the individual and works flexibly to meet each person’s unique needs, goals and way of engaging with the world. She enjoys helping clients make sense of their experiences, better understand themselves, and develop meaningful strategies that support everyday wellbeing and functioning.

When working with children and adolescents, Kirsty partners closely with parents, schools and other professionals where appropriate. She is passionate about helping families better understand a young person’s strengths, the meaning of behaviour and their support needs, and translating psychological insights into practical strategies that can be applied across home, school and community settings.

Known for her warm, curious and approachable style, Kirsty places strong importance on building trusting therapeutic relationships. She strives to create a safe and supportive space where clients feel comfortable being themselves, understood in their experiences, and actively involved in shaping the goals that matter most to them.
