Maria Bailey is a Registered Psychologist endorsed in Educational and Developmental Psychology and recognised as a Board Approved Supervisor. Her diverse career spans private practice, schools, and community-based services, including roles in leadership, training, and supervision.
Maria works with adults of all ages, as well as older adolescents (18+), providing psychological support across a wide range of presentations. These include anxiety, stress, depression, motivation, behaviour change, adjustment difficulties, grief and loss, self-esteem and confidence, and life transitions. She has a particular interest in workplace wellbeing, parenting, menopause, positive ageing, and the psychological impacts of chronic illness, including coeliac disease.
With a foundation in Educational and Developmental Psychology, Maria also supports adults with ADHD, learning difficulties, and neurodivergence, helping them build on their strengths and navigate challenges with greater confidence. Her therapeutic approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based frameworks. These include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Relaxation and Skills Training, Emotion-Focused and Interpersonal Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR).
Maria’s practice is informed by trauma-aware and mindfulness-based principles, and she tailors each session to suit the goals, strengths, and preferences of the person she is treating.
Maria is committed to ongoing learning and clinical excellence. She actively participates in professional development and supervision, and her work has been published in thesis-related research.
